What is DACA?

DACA is a U.S. immigration policy that allows certain individuals, known as "Dreamers," who were brought to the country as children without legal documentation, to receive a renewable period of deferred action from deportation and be eligible for a work permit.

Why do I need it?

If you qualify for DACA, this status can offer you the stability and security of living without the constant fear of deportation. It also allows you to work legally, contribute to the economy, and access educational and professional development opportunities that would not otherwise be available.

What are the requirements?

  1. Arrive in the U.S. before your 16th birthday.
  2. Live continuously in the country since June 2007.
  3. Be in school, have graduated from high school, have earned a GED, or have been honorably discharged from the military.
  4. Not have been convicted of a felony, significant misdemeanor or multiple misdemeanors.
  5. Be under the age of 31 as of June 15, 2012.
